Is a mental health check a diagnosis?
No. Screening helps you recognize patterns in what you’re experiencing. A qualified professional can consider your history and circumstances, make a diagnosis when appropriate, and help you decide what to do next.
Are my answers private?
Your answers and scores stay in your browser. We do not save them, ask for your name, or create a profile. Only clicks to the Better Behavioral intake portal are recorded, with the date/time, selected state, destination, and this website as the referral source. Other resource clicks are not tracked.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every screening on this site is free, and you can see your result without creating an account or sharing contact information. If you choose to seek care, the provider will explain any separate costs or insurance requirements.
What if I’m not sure which check to take?
The emotional distress check is a broad starting point if you’re unsure how to describe what you’re feeling. You can also choose a check for a specific concern, such as depression or anxiety. A primary care professional can help you talk through what you have noticed.
Can I get help if my score is low?
Yes. Your score never determines whether you deserve support. You can explore resources or speak with a professional at any point, especially if your concerns are affecting daily life.
