Professional knowledge. Lived experience.

Check My Mental Health is founded and run by behavioral health professionals with professional and lived experience. We bring that perspective to how we explain screening tools, describe their limits, and connect people with support.

The site offers educational information and screening tools. Taking a check does not establish a clinician–patient relationship or replace an individual evaluation.

We name the tool behind each check

Every interactive screening page identifies its instrument, includes attribution, and links to published source material. We preserve the instrument’s questions, response choices, and scoring rules. Separate support guides do not produce a clinical score.

A score needs context

Results explain what a screen measures and what it cannot determine. We do not turn a score into a diagnosis or a guarantee of treatment. Recommendations to seek care are separate from whether a partner serves your state.

Support remains available

Crisis contact information is available throughout the site. Relevant answers can also surface support during a check. You can seek help without completing a screening or reaching a particular score.

There’s no wrong time to ask for support.
